About The Course

The Sexual Health and Learning Disabilities Awareness course provides learners with an understanding of the issues relating to sexual health and how to support individuals with learning disabilities who could be affected by them. The course explores the different attitudes and behaviours towards people with learning disabilities and sexual health and the associated risks of poor sexual health, such as pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease. Learners will gain an understanding of the laws relating to ‘the capacity to consent’ and the skills required to support individuals to understand sexual health and where to seek further support and guidance.

Learners must demonstrate a willingness to learn and participate in all group activities, case studies and group discussions.
All learners will receive a certificate of completion
6 Hours, typical course times are 0930-1630.
The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client
A maximum of 15 learners per trainer are allowed
